Who are we ?

Coast Community Connections was founded in 1975 by a group of local community members who were looking to find ways to support children and families in their local community of Woy Woy. We started off as an organisation known as the Woy Woy Community Recreational Centre,  with our original funding provided by the NSW Government  to provide a hub for community programs and activities.

A community hub is all about creating and sustaining meaningful relationships with people and communities and over the years we have grown with our community and expanded the services and supports we provide across the Coast. We have had a few name changes along the way, in 1990, the Centre’s name was changed to Peninsula Community Centre Inc., with the current Community Centre building opening in 2002. And then in 2012 we change dour name to Coast Community Connections to better reflect the scope and range of services offered which now incorporates aged and disability services, youth and children’s services, as well as gambling counselling and support and community centre programs and activities.
