Peninsula School for Seniors - Since 1989

The School for Seniors hosted at the Peninsula Community Centre offers social benefits, friendship and ongoing support.

If you think you are too old to learn or too old to have fun then the School for Seniors, they will soon change your mind. The group learn something new all the time and have a whole lot of fun at the same time. Click here to download the School for Seniors program. 

TUESDAY

HAVE A CHAT MEETING
TIME: 9:45 am for a 10:00 am start
Involves all members making decisions for the School, plus arranging theatre parties and weekend outings throughout the year.

DISCUSSION GROUP
TIME: 11.00 am – 12.00 noon
A tutored self discussion group on the ‘pros & cons‘ of current affairs with guest speakers featured on a regular basis.

LUNCH BREAK
TIME: 12 pm – 1.00 pm
BYO lunch, followed by a fun afternoon of Rumikin or Scrabble. Come along to play or learn to play.
TIME: 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
COST: $4.00 per day including Tea & Coffee in the Seniors Room.

WEDNESDAY

MULTI CRAFT - SOCIAL GROUP
TIME: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Join our welcoming craft circle to work together on your tapestry, crochet, knitting, sewing, card making or painting with experienced members always willing to help if needed. 
COST: $4.00 per day including Tea & Coffee in the Seniors Room.

THURSDAY

HISTORY
TIME: 10:15 am – 11:45 am
Participate in interesting group discussions on history or watch selected videos and documentaries. 
COST: $4.00 per day including Tea & Coffee in the Seniors Room.

FRIDAY

SOCIAL OUTING
On the fourth Friday of the month, join us for a fun outing. All outings are suitable for the over 50’s.
A Community Bus is available on these days. We meet at the Community Centre entry or the car park outside the Theatre.
TIME: 9:30 am - 1:30 pm
COST: $6.00
