Preparing to apply

Please read the advertisement and the position description carefully.

Please note the closing date for applications. All applications must be received by the date and time advised. If you send your application late, it will not be considered.

We choose applicants based on the selection criteria. If you do not answer each of the selection criteria, it is unlikely that you will be offered an interview.


Understanding the Selection Criteria

Selection criteria are a list of desired skills, experiences and attributes required to perform a certain job. The selection criteria are usually divided into essential and desirable.

The employment panel can only employ someone who has the listed skills, experience and attributes. The way we find out who has those skills is by seeking applications which outline how they meet the criteria, and then by interviewing based on the criteria. Write at least a paragraph underneath saying how you have the experience or skills.

By following this process we ensure that every applicant has an equal opportunity of being employed.

Required Information

  • Covering Letter: This letter should include your name, your current contact details including a daytime phone number, and a reference to the position title that you are applying for.

  • Your résumé: Your resume provides additional information for the panel.

Please ensure that no originals of certificates or personal information are included in the package so that they are not misplaced or lost in transit. However, if you are successful in obtaining an interview, please remember to bring the originals with you.
